Rachel McAdams (The Hot Chick) will play opposite Lindsay Lohan in Paramount's upcoming teen comedy Mean Girls. McAdams is set to star as Regina, one of the popular girls at an Illinois public high school.
The story centers on Lohan's character, who has grown up abroad and must experience how cruel teenage girls can be after she falls in love with the wrong boy and is reduced to using the same mean-spirited methods to win him as the other girls.
Saturday Night Live head writer Tina Fey adapted Rosalind Wiseman's book "Queen Bees and Wannabes: Helping Your Daughter Survive Cliques, Gossip, Boyfriends and Other Realities of Adolescence."
Mean Girls is scheduled to start shooting later this month with Mark S. Waters, who directed Lohan in Freaky Friday, slated to helm.
