The Coming Soon! Box Office Report has been updated with this weekend's studio estimates. Final figures will be posted there on Monday, so be sure to stay tuned.
Disney & Pixar's new animated Finding Nemo dominated the box office with $70.6 million in three days. If estimates hold, the figure marks the 6th best debut for a film in May and the 8th best opening for a film in history. "Nemo" set a new record for an animated film, surpassing the $62.5 million bow of the studios' own Monsters, Inc. in November 2001.
Jim Carrey's Bruce Almighty dropped to the second spot with another strong performance, Paramount's new The Italian Job did great in third and Fox's Wrong Turn landed in 7th with a modest box office take.
